Pale golden spheres of takoyaki nestle into the rounded molds of a black cast-iron grill, their surfaces glistening with oil under the diffuse glow of broad skylight. The light bounces off nearby pale walls, illuminating the steam rising from the hot batter. Condensation beads heavily on a glass partition to the side, signaling the humid monsoon air outside. A metal spatula hovers near the edge of the frame, ready to turn the cooking orbs. The texture of the crispy, browned exterior contrasts with the soft, steaming interior visible where one ball has cracked slightly. White flour dusts the rim of the tray, and the rhythmic pattern of the grill molds creates a geometric rhythm across the foreground. A final drop of oil rolls down the side of a mold, merging with the sizzling heat below.
