Beneath the flat, diffuse light of an overcast midday, a narrow Lyon traboule passageway reveals a small, active tailor’s workshop tucked into the ground floor of a Haussmann-style building. Through the glass, a tailor in a grey apron leans over a heavy wooden cutting table, his hands manipulating a length of dark wool fabric with sewing scissors. The table surface is deeply scarred, the wood grain darkened by decades of use and chalk dust. On a nearby pegboard, frayed rope fibers hang loosely beside pin cushions stuffed with colorful threads. A straight razor rests on a leather strop, catching the soft ambient light. In the background, cupboard doors stand slightly ajar, revealing shelves of folded textiles.
