Symmetrical Stair Hall Overlooking Trabzon Water Village

Soft, diffused light from heavy overcast midsummer skies fills a tiled stair hall near Trabzon. The composition is perfectly symmetrical, with rows of glazed tiles reflecting the muted gray of the sky. Through the open archway at the top of the stairs, a fishing village built on wooden stilts extends over the dark water. The stilts create a rhythmic pattern against the wet surfaces below.
