Sun Flare Through Archway Clouds in beneath fast-moving cloud bands near Shinyanga

Sun Flare Through Archway Clouds

by Daniel Guthrie

Bright sunlight pierces the center of a stone archway, creating a sharp starburst that dominates the foreground. The arch frames a distant mountain landscape where heavy, low-hanging cloud bands move rapidly across the sky. Dry, golden light illuminates the rough texture of the weathered stone, against the cool, grey tones of the wet season clouds. Layers of depth stretch from the immediate archway into the hazy, expansive valley beyond. The ground near the arch is dry and dusty, while the distant peaks are partially obscured by the shifting atmospheric moisture. A distinct shadow falls across the left side of the arch opening, defining its three-dimensional form against the bright sky.
