Pale silver dawn light falls through low-hanging clouds, washing the room in a cool, even glow. A stylist kneels on a concrete floor, hands pressing the heavy train of a sequined gown flat against the ground. Thousands of tiny, flat discs cover the fabric, catching the dim morning light in scattered points of reflection. Beside the figure, a large mirror framed by a ring of unlit makeup bulbs reflects the back of the dress and the stylist's posture. The fabric rests on the floor at the edge of the frame, where dust settles on the hem against the sequins. The empty space behind the mirror shows the quiet preparation before the first look.
