Studio Setup in San Francisco

Flat noon light washes over a sun-bleached Victorian bay window in the Mission District, where a local artist has set up a temporary studio space. A battered wooden workbench sits precariously on the sill, cluttered with open jars of vibrant acrylics and a violin resting case-open beside a half-finished sketch. Glass bottles of turpentine and water catch the harsh, shadowless light, their surfaces gleaming against the rough stucco wall. A ladder-back chair is pulled up, its slats casting long, thin shadows across the peeling paint.
