A sun-bleached brick wall of a historic building in Halifax, Nova Scotia, stands under the harsh, flat glare of midday sun. A weathered wooden window box rests on the facade, holding a cluster of small, green potted succulents that cast sharp, dark shadows against the red clay pots. Beside the greenery, a vintage Italian majolica plate rests precariously on the ledge, its blue and white floral patterns faded by years of exposure to the coastal salt air. The rough texture of the stucco wall contrasts with the smooth ceramic surface, while the bright white light washes out the deeper colors of the surrounding street, showing the aged details of this lived-in corner of the city.
