Stone Dovecote Under Glass Hobart Dawn

Early spring light skims across the rough, grey stone surface of a small dovecote situated within a glass-roofed arcade in Hobart. The sidelight from the nautical dawn highlights the porous texture of the masonry and the damp sheen of moisture lingering on the ground after recent rain. Glass panels overhead frame the pale sky, while the structure stands in isolation against the vast, empty space of the arcade. Water droplets rest on the lower stone edges, and shadows stretch long across the wet pavement. Humid air hangs heavy near the floor where stone meets the glass walls. A reflection of the pale sky glides along the wet pavement at the edge of the frame.
