Steaming Pleated Fabric in Khartoum Atelier

Copper-toned light spills across the floor of a Khartoum couture atelier, illuminating a heavy iron hovering just above layers of pleated fabric. Steam rises in soft, translucent ribbons that catch the warm edge light, blurring the crisp folds beneath. The metal soleplate reflects the dimming day, while the fabric drapes in deep, muted tones that shift between charcoal and bronze. Muted reflections of the steam and the iron glide along the polished surface of the floor. The air hangs still, holding the visible vapor in suspension as the tailor maintains precise control over the garment. One wrinkle disappears under the heat, leaving a smooth, dark line against the lighter folds.
