The ground is scattered with dry brown leaves, indicating the season's progress. Shadows fall sharply beneath the paws, suggesting a high sun filtered through thin cloud cover. The composition centers the dog against the muted greens and grays of the park edge, showing the texture of the fur against the smooth pavement.
