Splitting Cotton Boll in Salta Winter Drizzle

Pale winter light wraps around a cotton boll splitting open to reveal fluffy white fibers. Raindrops rest on the green husk and the pale fluff, darkening the outer edges of the plant. The background dissolves into soft, out-of-focus greens and browns of a Salta meadow, leaving generous negative space that isolates the texture of the seed pod. Early winter moisture beads on the cotton and the muted, cool tones of the surrounding grasses. The white fibers stand out starkly against the wet, earthy ground under a gray, overcast sky. Water droplets rest on the tip of a nearby stem.
