Soldier Climbs Rain-Slicked Obstacle Wall

Steel gray rain sheets down heavily across a high wooden obstacle wall situated along the concrete apron of a Virginia airbase flight line. A soldier viewed from behind grips the wet timber, their dark uniform heavy with water. The sky hangs low and flat, a uniform sheet of overcast cloud that diffuses the late morning light into a soft, shadowless glow. Early winter chill is visible in the muted tones of the damp ground and the soldier's hooded posture. Water streams down the vertical planks of the barrier, creating dark rivulets that contrast with the lighter, rain-slicked surface. A puddle of gray water forms at the base of the wall where the soldier's boots are planted firmly on the wet concrete.
