Snow Leopard at Winter Riverbank Dawn

Heavy overcast skies cast a flat, silver light over a frozen riverbank near Sapporo. A snow leopard stands motionless along a game trail, its thick fur mottled with grey and white rosettes that blend into the wet, dormant grasses. Rain has bent the stalks low around the animal's legs, creating a textured foreground of dark, waterlogged reeds. The first rays of sunrise pierce the clouds from the left, illuminating a thin layer of frost on the leopard's back while the river surface remains dark and still. Droplets rest on the bent blades of grass, catching the pale morning glow. The animal's gaze is fixed forward, its paws planted firmly on the muddy, trampled earth.
