A small terrier stands alert on the wet pavement of a Liverpool street corner, its fur matted by the cool early morning mist. The dog wears a bright red collar that contrasts sharply with the grey tones of the surrounding Victorian brickwork and damp stone. Behind the animal, a traditional red post box stands sentinel near a closed bakery door, reflecting the faint ambient light of dawn. Dewdrops rest on the iron railing beside the dog, catching the pale light as the city begins to stir.
