A traditional Slovenian Kurentovanje carnival mask rests on a pale museum plinth under the flat glare of midday. Thick, coarse sheepskin drapes over the wooden frame, its natural beige tones against the deep red and black accents of the woven horns. The texture of the wool appears dense and matted, catching the soft reflections from the surrounding pale walls illuminated by broad skylight. The tight framing isolates the object, showing the rugged craftsmanship against the smooth, sterile surface of the display stand. Shadows fall sharply across the uneven fur, highlighting the depth of the fibers and the rigid structure of the mask's face.
