Fine droplets of black ink speckle the skin along the jawline and cheek, catching the soft morning glow. The air shimmers with a visible heat haze that blurs the background slightly. Behind the subject, corrugated metal walls and brick structures of the township rise in muted earth tones. The dry season leaves the nearby ground cracked and dusty. Negative space frames the face, showing the stillness of the moment. One dark ink smudge rests on the collarbone, against the pale skin.
