Silhouetted Felucca Sail at Sunset

Golden light floods the sky as a lateen sail rises in stark silhouette against the fading sun. The curved hull rests on dry, cracked earth along a winding switchback road near Tabriz. Midsummer heat distorts the air, making the distant horizon shimmer. Weather-beaten wood textures define the mast and rigging, stripped of paint by years of exposure. Leading lines of the dusty track guide the gaze from the foreground toward the vessel. Shadows stretch long and sharp across the uneven ground. A final edge of the sail catches the last ray, glowing orange before vanishing into the deepening blue of the evening sky.
