Silhouetted Allotment Gardens Winter Coast

Dark geometric plots of cultivated earth form a rigid patchwork against the churning surf below. Late afternoon light turns the garden beds into stark black silhouettes, erasing color and texture in favor of sharp, angular outlines. Bare branches of dormant trees stand like thin needles against the pale sky, their leaves long gone to the winter chill. The ocean surface scallops with white foam where waves break against the shore, creating a rhythmic, moving texture beneath the stillness of the gardens. Wind whips the bare tops of the hedges, bending them in unison toward the sea. Layers of fenced plots recede into the distance, each rectangle a dark void against the fading horizon. The final edge of the nearest fence line cuts a clean diagonal across the bottom corner of the view.
