Sunlight slants through the dusty air of a narrow Hyderabad lane, illuminating a tailor’s open shopfront where a heavy brass door handle gleams against peeling green paint. Inside, a wooden counter holds a chaotic cluster of sewing tools: a thimble resting near a small pin cushion, a recipe tin repurposed for buttons, and a rolling pin lying beside spools of vibrant thread. Outside, a faded door mat catches the dust kicked up by passing pedestrians. The warm late afternoon light catches the texture of the rough stucco walls and the smooth metal of the handle, creating a stark contrast between the worn interior and the bright street.
