Sunlight blasts through the open shutter of a narrow textile repair shop in Pondy Bazaar, illuminating a dust-filled air space. A tailor’s wooden cutting table, its surface darkened by decades of use and stained with chalk, holds a pair of shears and a discarded apron draped over a stool. Outside, the street vibrates with heat, where a brown dog sleeps in the shade of a parked bicycle, ignoring the passing crowd. The frame shows the contrast between the cool, shadowed interior work surface and the harsh, bright exterior, with a glimpse of red geraniums in a clay pot on the windowsill adding a splash of color against the peeling green paint of the shop front.
