Serving Bread in Tunis
Blue hour settles over a Tunisian medina alley, casting long, indigo shadows against the warm, sun-bleached stucco of a corner bakery. A baker, his face smudged with flour, leans out from the open doorway, holding a wooden tray of freshly baked khobz that glows with residual heat. The warm amber spill from the oven interior contrasts sharply with the cool twilight outside. On the windowsill, a cluster of vibrant red geraniums in chipped terracotta pots catches the last ambient light, their leaves turning deep green in the dim. A faded, colorful rug hangs draped over a nearby railing, its threadbare edges fluttering slightly in the evening breeze.
