Pale morning light reflects off the smooth, cream-colored walls of a Samsun cloister passage, illuminating a weathered sandstone arch that frames the quiet space. The rough texture of the ancient masonry contrasts with the polished surfaces of the surrounding architecture. Early winter is evident in the bare stone floor and the cool, diffused glow that fills the corridor without harsh shadows. Soft lamplight settles into the deep corners behind the arch, casting long, gentle pools of warm yellow against the cool stone. The arch stands as a silent sentinel, its curved top worn by centuries of passage, while the light from the window outside bounces softly to reveal the subtle grain of the rock. A thin shadow falls across the base of the pillar, marking the edge where the artificial glow meets the natural dawn.
