Rain streaks diagonally across the frame as a jockey leans forward, whip raised mid-swing against a darkening sky. The horse's coat glistens wet and dark, muscles rippling under the skin with every stride. Low horizon light wraps the scene in amber, illuminating dust and water droplets suspended in the air just above the churned mud. The rider's silks, soaked and clinging, flutter in the wind. Hooves kick up sprays of brown slurry that catch the fading glow. Close details show the tension in the rider's gloved hand and the foaming mouth of the horse. one drop of rain hangs from the brim of the jockey's cap, refracting the last light before falling.
