Robotic Arms on Scaffold Near Diyarbakir

Soft late-afternoon light falls through fine dust suspended in the air, illuminating the metallic complexity of a car assembly line. Massive robotic arms extend from a steel scaffold platform, their joints and hydraulic cylinders gleaming with a wet sheen from recent rain. The machinery stands in sharp relief against a backdrop of arid, late-summer terrain surrounding Diyarbakir. Leading lines formed by the assembly track and scaffold beams draw the eye deep into the industrial space, where the charged material grit settles on the floor. A reflection of the sky catches on a polished metal surface at the base of the nearest arm, at the base of the scene in tangible reality.
