Mist rests on the Bosphorus shore, softening the sharp edges of a yellow ferry cutting through the gray water in the distance. In the foreground, a street vendor’s cart sits steaming, the white vapor rising from a large metal saucepan catching the pale, diffused dawn light. Beside the heat source, two golden-brown simit loaves rest on a wire rack, their sesame seeds glistening with condensation. A worker in a high-visibility vest adjusts a folding fan to keep the smoke away from his face, the motion blurred against the static backdrop of wet cobblestones and distant minarets.
