Flat noon light washes over a cramped Bangkok street food stall where a vendor wipes sweat from his forehead while arranging skewers of marinated pork on a stainless steel tray. The bright, harsh illumination reflects off the wet pavement and the red lacquered wood of the serving counter, creating a sharp contrast with the shadowed alleyway behind. A frayed rope fiber dangles loosely from a hanging fan above, vibrating slightly in the stagnant air. In the background, a Turkish Van cat with white and orange patches sits perched on a plastic crate, watching a motorbike pass by with indifferent eyes.
