Red Brick Victorian Loft Beside Blast Furnace
by Chad Stevens
Warm candlelight spills across the rough, red-brick facade of a converted Victorian warehouse, contrasting sharply with the dark, industrial silhouette of a blast furnace standing immediately to the side. The wet season air hangs heavy, visible as a metallic haze drifting just above the concrete floor. Large, arched windows reflect the flickering orange glow of the candles inside, revealing dark interiors against the black night sky. Moisture glistens on the weathered brickwork, showing the texture of the aged masonry. The scene remains grounded in labor-hardened realism, with no surreal elements, only the physical presence of the building and the furnace under the deep night sky. One puddle near the foundation catches the candle reflection, rippling slightly in the damp air.
