Record Needle Drops as Rain Falls Upward

Cool blue twilight washes the interior, illuminating a worn leather armchair where a vintage record player rests. The tonearm hovers over a spinning vinyl disc, the needle poised to touch the grooves. Through the window, the defining impossibility unfolds: crisp silver streaks of rain fall upward, piercing the darkening sky. Dust motes hang suspended in the blue light, caught between the chair and the window frame. The leather shows deep creases and a matte sheen, against the sharp, metallic lines of the rising water. A small ceramic bowl sits on the armrest, its rim catching the faint glow of the window. The upward motion of the water creates a stark vertical rhythm against the horizontal stillness of the furniture. One droplet rests on the metal tonearm, defying gravity.
