Soft overcast light falls through a brief sun shower inside a weathered ranch corral in Georgia. A heavy-duty metal harness locker stands damp against the mist, its gray paint peeling to reveal rust beneath. Water droplets rest on the wire mesh and drip from the corrugated roof above. Layers of depth recede into the background where wet wooden fences blur into the gray sky. The ground is churned mud, slick with rain and scattered with hay. No pastoral ideal exists here, only the raw texture of agricultural equipment enduring the monsoon. One rivet on the locker door reflects the pale, diffused sky.
