Outside, low-hanging gray clouds press against the sky, signaling the heavy rain of the season in Arusha. The pavement glistens with a thin sheen of water, reflecting the cool glow of the interior bulbs. No shoppers occupy the quiet space, leaving only the stacked packaging and the orderly rows of paper tickets visible. Converging lines of the building facade guide toward a distant vanishing point where the street disappears into the mist. A wet droplet rests on the edge of the metal shelf, waiting to fall.
