Rail Shadow in Rome

A weathered wooden peg rail casts a sharp, rhythmic shadow against the textured ochre plaster of a narrow Roman alley wall. The late afternoon sun slants through the adjacent building, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the warm amber light. The rough stucco surface shows signs of age with small cracks and peeling paint near the base of the wall. One faded ceramic tile from an old drain lies partially buried in the dust at the bottom edge of the frame.
