In the foreground, a wet boot scraper stands outside a cafe entrance, its metal grid caked with dried mud. A woman in a yellow raincoat steps over it, holding a blue and white porcelain bowl wrapped in a plastic bag to protect it from the drizzle. The bowl’s glaze catches the dull light, against the rough stone pavement. Steam rises from a nearby vent, mingling with the mist.
