A cluster of rough-skinned pomegranates rests on a weathered wooden crate beside a small shop in Istanbul. The flat noon light highlights the deep red skins and the dusty texture of the fruit against the wood. Behind the crate, a faded blue wooden door frame stands slightly ajar, revealing a glimpse of the interior. One pomegranate has split open, exposing its glistening ruby seeds to the bright daylight.
