Late afternoon light spills across a weathered stucco wall in a Cairo courtyard, illuminating a cluster of daily life objects arranged on a low concrete ledge. Three enamel bowls, chipped at the rims and painted in faded turquoise and cream, sit beside a glass pickle jar filled with brine and green peppers, their surfaces catching the warm, directional sunlight. A coiled garden hose rests against the base of the wall, its rubber texture against the rough plaster.
