Pepper Plants and Yellow Traps in Greenhouse in under translucent greenhouse roofing in São Paulo state

Pepper Plants and Yellow Traps in Greenhouse

by Declan Shannon

Bright afternoon light falls through translucent roofing panels into the north-facing aisle of a São Paulo greenhouse. Rows of green pepper plants stretch into the distance, their leaves showing the muted tone of early winter. Clusters of bright yellow sticky traps hang from the stems, their surfaces catching the soft sidelight. Concrete walls line the sides, with deep shadows falling along the edges. Plastic irrigation tubes run along the soil beds beside the organic texture of the foliage. Dust settles on the broad leaves where the light is brightest. One yellow card hangs lower than the rest, resting against the dense green backdrop.
