Warm candlelight pools across a weathered wooden table, illuminating a cracked wheel of hard cheese resting on a cloth. Dust motes hang suspended in the golden glow against the deep indigo twilight seeping through a nearby window. The cheese rind shows a rough, textured surface with jagged fissures where the wheel has split. Shadows stretch long and soft across the table grain, against the bright, flickering firelight. Behind the subject, dark shelves fade into the gloom, hinting at rows of books in a quiet library space. The crack in the cheese catches a sharp highlight, revealing the dense, granular interior of the aged wheel.
