Soft north light spills across a wooden staircase, illuminating hundreds of folded white paper cranes wrapped in a continuous spiral. The string of origami birds climbs the banister, their crisp edges catching the bright midmorning glow. Nearby surfaces reflect a gentle sheen, highlighting the smooth paint of the handrail and the grain of the wooden steps. The setting reveals an art classroom in Baltimore, with large windows framing the view outside. Late spring greenery peeks through the glass, casting faint shadows on the floor. The cranes hang in neat rows, their wings angled slightly upward, creating a rhythmic pattern against the neutral wall. One folded paper rests on the bottom step, its shadow stretching across the wood grain.
