Observatory Stairwell in Athens at Indigo Twilight After Sunset

Inside the concrete stairwell of the University of Athens observatory, the space is lit by the dim red glow of safety night bulbs. The concrete steps show signs of wear from decades of students climbing to the roof. A small plastic bowl of ash reshteh with kashk sits on a landing, its creamy texture against the stark industrial surroundings. Leaf shadows from nearby courtyard trees stretch across the tile grout, distorted by the low light. The indigo twilight outside the stairwell opening hints at the city beyond, while the red lights create a distinct, moody visual signature typical of Greek university infrastructure at night.
