Light Falls in Athens at Early Morning Light

The cool early morning light falls through a high window in an old Athens apartment, casting a sharp, geometric shadow of a wooden peg rail onto the textured, off-white plaster wall. Below the shadow, a small, worn wooden shelf holds a single speckled stoneware glaze mug and a faded embroidered cushion, remnants of a lived-in space. The light catches the dust on the rough surface, highlighting the cracks in the paint and the grain of the wood.
