Nowruz Haft-Sin Table Under Moonlit Night Sky
by Gene Tate
Cold silver moonlight spills across a traditional Nowruz haft-sin arrangement placed on a low wooden table. Seven distinct items, including a polished mirror and flickering candles, sit in careful rows against the dark backdrop. The mirror reflects the faint glow of nearby lanterns lining the shrine walls, creating fragmented points of warm light that contrast with the cool blue tone of the night. Low-hanging clouds drift overhead, diffusing the starlight into a soft, even illumination. In the immediate foreground, out-of-focus green leaves blur into soft shapes, adding depth to the composition. The candles cast short, dancing shadows that stretch across the wooden surface, while the mirror shows the inverted image of the shrine's interior. A final beam of moonlight strikes the edge of a green apple, highlighting its smooth, waxy skin.
