Nigerian Eyo Festival in Tampere Waterfront Noon

Bright noon light flattens the shadows across a group of figures dressed in flowing white robes and tall black hats, standing on a paved waterfront promenade. The white fabric absorbs the harsh glare, creating soft folds that drape over the bodies. Behind them, the gray-blue water of Lake Näsijärvi stretches to a distant tree line where bare branches hint at the early spring thaw. A low stone wall separates the figures from the water, and patches of melting snow line the edges of the gray concrete. The arrangement forms a perfect mirror image, with the central figure flanked by identical poses on either side. The crisp air is visible in the stillness of the hanging fabric and the lack of movement in the background trees. A dark shadow falls sharply beneath the hem of the nearest robe.
