Golden light spills across the waterfront in Talat Noi, illuminating towering bamboo swings constructed for the Dashain festival. The massive wooden frames rise against a humid, rain-washed sky, their green stalks glistening with recent monsoon moisture. People gather in respectful clusters along the muddy riverbank, their colorful traditional garments standing out against the gray concrete embankment. The water reflects the fading amber glow, creating a shimmering path beneath the swaying structures. Shadows stretch long and soft across the wet ground, defining the scale of the swings against the low-rise buildings. A final beam of sunlight catches the rough texture of the bamboo joints at the apex of the highest swing.
