Cool blue and pink neon reflections glide across the deep black velvet fabric spread along a narrow backstage corridor. Intricate rose appliques, stitched with precision, rest in scattered clusters upon the plush surface. Pale white morning light falls through a distant window, falling across the fabric and illuminating the edges of the petals. The texture of the velvet absorbs the ambient glow while the fabric petals catch the sharp lines of the illumination. Soft blurred shapes in the immediate foreground create depth, suggesting nearby objects out of focus. The arrangement sits deliberately against the dark background, waiting for final adjustments. A sharp edge of silver thread glints against the dark pile of the cloth at the very bottom.
