Late spring leaves and crumpled paper drift in a tight line along the wet pavement, caught in a gust of wind. The corner of a cafe with warm interior light stands adjacent, casting a soft orange glow that meets the cool neon tones. Shadows stretch long across the slick surface, and the final light of sunset fades behind the building silhouette. A jagged crack in the pavement near the puddle's edge reflects a fractured shard of the red neon light.
