Navy Peacoats on Rail in Mar del Plata Atelier
by Toni Jimenez
Crisp high-altitude noon light floods the couture atelier near Mar del Plata, flattening shadows across a row of navy peacoats. The brushed melton fabric displays a dense, uniform nap that catches the glare without shimmering. Each coat hangs with precise tension on the metal rail, positioned at the very edge of the frame. A faint hairspray haze hangs in the air, softening the hard edges of the garments and creating a subtle veil over the textures. The coats align in a disciplined sequence, their deep indigo tones absorbing the intense sun while the surrounding white walls reflect the brightness. The rail itself is slender and silver, barely visible beneath the weight of the wool. A small fold in the sleeve of the nearest coat reveals the thickness of the material against the stark backdrop. The fabric's surface remains undisturbed, showing no movement despite the warm early summer air.
