Meteor Fireball Trail Over Zhengzhou Ridgeline
by Jorge Paul
A brilliant meteor fireball streaks across the deep indigo sky, leaving a thick, glowing smoke trail that arches from the zenith toward the horizon. Below, the frost-hushed ridgeline near Zhengzhou sits under a sweeping beam of artificial light, likely from a distant lighthouse or tower, casting sharp contrasts on the dry early autumn grass. The wind whips through the foreground, bending the brittle stalks and blurring the edges of the terrain. In the lower third, a frozen puddle acts as a mirror, perfectly reflecting the meteor's incandescent path and the sweeping light beam above. The cold air creates a visible stillness despite the wind, while the reflected light on the ice surface sharpens the boundary between the terrestrial ground and the cosmic event. The smoke trail fades into a gray haze against the dark upper sky.
