A metal boot scraper stands firmly on the grey stone step of a Berlin apartment entrance, catching the bright afternoon light. The vertical ridges of the scraper are coated in fine dust and dried mud from the city streets. Behind the scraper, the dark wooden door frame provides a stark contrast to the weathered metal surface. A small patch of green moss grows in the crack between the stone step and the building foundation.
