Rain-slicked pavement reflects the harsh neon glow of a nearby tea stall, creating a vibrant, wet mirror beneath the feet of a seamstress working under a corrugated tin awning. She sits on a low folding stool, her fingers stained with chalk dust as she marks a bolt of bright crimson fabric, the fresh citrus peel from a morning snack resting precariously on a stack of woven mats nearby. The first light after rain catches the sheen on the wet street, highlighting the texture of the damp concrete and the glossy plastic of a toolbox left open by a passing electrician.
