First Light on Street Vendor in Mumbai

A street vendor stands behind a small metal cart on a wet Mumbai pavement, the first light of morning reflecting off the slick asphalt. Steam rises from large clay pots, clouding the air slightly against the cool morning chill. The vendor, wearing a faded shirt, tends to the simmering contents while a customer waits nearby. Behind them, a narrow alleyway opens up, lined with colorful shop shutters that are just beginning to be pushed open. Puddles from the recent rain mirror the overhead power lines and the distant silhouette of a building.
