First light after rain washes over a narrow Naples alley, turning the wet cobblestones into a mirror of pale sky and terracotta roofs. A small grocery stall, its awning striped in faded red and white, shelters crates of glossy tomatoes and lemons. Inside, a copper pot catches the diffused glow, resting on a wooden counter beside a porcelain bowl with visible crazing. A ginger cat sits alert on the edge, watching a passerby in a raincoat.
